About The Conference:

Private equity groups, and large institutions that like co-investments and direct investments, are increasingly seeking out independent sponsors. The increased option value, control and discretion, flexibility, and shorter lock-in periods are encouraging many LPs to get up to speed on this alternative approach to private equity investing. iGlobal Forum’s Independent Sponsors Summit: Chicago is a deal-sourcing and educational forum, where independent sponsors and capital sources can establish relationships and evaluate the potential for future business endeavors. New market entrants will benefit from the experience and insights of their peers; and established players will acquire valuable new contacts to generate fresh dealflow. Deal spotlights will reveal how independent sponsors have sourced and executed proprietary deals, driven value through working with operating partners, and designed solid shared governance structures. 1-on-1 networking will allow independent sponsors and capital providers to connect, during a series of concise and focused meetings. Plus, an interactive luncheon workshop will bring together capital providers and independent sponsors, to discuss how the two parties can build successful and long-standing business relationships.

Key topics that will be covered:

  • Building long-standing relationships between capital providers and independent sponsors
  • Differentiation strategies – sourcing attractive deals that are not widely shopped
  • Notable middle market deals transacted by independent sponsors in 2015
  • Expected future investment activity, and what is driving investors to partner with independent sponsors
  • Generating dealflow and income in all market cycles

Network with leading:

  • Private equity firms
  • Family offices
  • Hedge funds
  • BDCs
  • Mezzanine lenders
